The Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza returns to Gull Lake’s Hole-in-the-Day Bay on January 31, 2026, promising another unforgettable day for anglers and families.

 

Now a cherished Minnesota winter tradition for over 30 years, the event is expected to draw nearly 10,000 participants vying for more than $150,000 in prizes, including cash, vehicles, and top-tier ice fishing equipment.

 

This massive tournament not only celebrates fishing but also uplifts the community.

 

Proceeds benefit local causes, chiefly the Confidence Learning Center, which delivers outdoor education for individuals with developmental disabilities.

 

Preparations are moving ahead swiftly, with volunteers scheduled to drill 20,000 holes, ensuring a smooth experience for competitors.

 

Tickets are on sale online and at select outlets, with same-day options beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the bay.

Events will include a community potluck, rides to Nisswa and Pine River, and multiple social hours at the Pequot Lakes American Legion, making it a true celebration for locals and visitors alike.

 

The iconic Viking snowmobile will be this year’s spotlight, offering fans a rare look at a beloved classic.

 

Admission is free for all spectators, and everyone is invited to join in the festivities, raffle, and banquet on Saturday night.
