Driving with a foggy windshield is more than a nuisance—it poses a real safety risk by impairing visibility.
Fog forms when moist air inside the car meets a colder windshield, leading to dangerous condensation.
Quick fixes include using your defroster or air conditioner to dry out the air and warm the glass.
Opening the windows slightly can also help let humid air escape, rapidly improving clarity.
To prevent fog, keep your windshield clean with an ammonia-based cleaner and consider anti-fog solutions or even household remedies like shaving cream.
Moisture absorbers such as silica gel or cat litter can further reduce interior humidity.
Always check for leaks and maintain your vehicle's HVAC system to keep moisture at bay.
Clear visibility is crucial—these steps help ensure you stay safe, alert, and comfortable while driving. Read More... |

Big Grocery Changes in the Brainerd Lakes Area |
Hey friends, some big news for grocery shopping around here! A few local stores are getting a new name.
The Pequot Lakes Super Value and the Brainerd Cub Foods are now called Super One Foods. The Baxter Cub Foods has closed, but don’t worry—Super One already has another store in Baxter.
This switch happened in mid-September after Super One Foods bought S&R Quisberg Inc.’s grocery stores in Brainerd, Baxter, and Pequot Lakes. Super One is part of Miner’s Inc, a family-owned company based in Hermantown, Minnesota. They run 24 stores in Minnesota, 4 in Wisconsin, and 5 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
When the change happened, more than 50 employees pitched in at the Pequot Lakes and Brainerd stores to help out with new signs, prices, training, and stocking shelves. Sadly, about 235 employees will lose their jobs starting September 25, 2025. But Super One says they’ll give those workers a chance to interview for other jobs with the company.
Super One is promising shoppers “Lower Prices & Better Choices” every day. With these new stores, the company now has 33 locations in its franchise. |
