Residents Urged to Report Suspicious Activity Amid Recent Vandalism |
UPDATE 09/04/25: Nisswa Police confirm the individual has been identified, no confirmed information about arrests or charges yet.
Residents of Nisswa and Pequot Lakes are expressing growing concern over a series of graffiti incidents that have marred local properties in recent weeks.
On the evening of August 25, a resident in Nisswa returned home to find fresh graffiti defacing their garage door. The same night, the Nisswa Motel was similarly vandalized. Both incidents were promptly reported to the Nisswa Police Department, who, along with support from Pequot Lakes authorities, are actively investigating these acts of vandalism.
These recent events are not isolated. Earlier in August, the Pequot Lakes Police Department received a report on August 4 regarding property damage due to graffiti on Government Drive. Additionally, on June 19, graffiti was reported on County Road 11 in Pequot Lakes. These incidents highlight a troubling trend of vandalism in the area.
Local law enforcement is urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Community members are encouraged to share information that could assist in identifying those responsible for these acts. The cooperation between Nisswa and Pequot Lakes police departments underscores the commitment to maintaining the safety and integrity of the community.
Residents are reminded to secure their properties and consider installing security measures such as cameras or motion-activated lights to deter potential vandals. Community engagement and prompt reporting are vital in addressing and preventing further incidents.
For those who witness suspicious behavior or have information related to these graffiti incidents, please contact the Nisswa Police Department or the Pequot Lakes Police Department. Your assistance is invaluable in preserving the beauty and safety of our towns. |
